Mabel Fox is the creation of talented print artist Katherine Farrell.  Her Scandi inspired designs are all hand carved original linocut prints featuring woodland and garden creatures and were originally created to entertain the little children in her extended family  – after whom all her animals are named. There’s Evelyn Bunny, Daniel Fox, Charlie Mouse, Olivia Ladybird and Jemima Cat to introduce a few of the gang.

Mabel Fox prints are signed limited editions (there are 50 of each). Each print is hand drawn, then cut in to lino and printed by hand using water based ink so each print is different due to the process and you can expect to find variations in colour and texture in each one. The actual image is 30cm x 30cm square. The paper is cut to 40cm x 50cm

They all come in a range of colours from muted greys and pinks to blues, reds and the neutral ochre’s. They work well on their own or as a pair and a set of four makes a great statement wall. Whether your wanting some art for a nursery or kids room or wanting to decorate a family room the flexibility of Katherine’s designs make them suitable for many purposes.

Mabel Fox also has a range of cards as well as household and interior accessories that make great gifts – cushions, aprons, tea towels and soon to arrive mugs. Small framed prints start at £17.50 (a ready made gift just waiting to be wrapped) going up to £45 for the larger prints. The print is sold unframed and fits easily into a standard frame, but framing is also available upon request.  Cards start at £2.30 and Christmas cards, featuring Leon Reindeer will be appearing soon.

From mid November, the Museum of Cambridge will be selling homewares – aprons, tea towels, mugs and coasters.
