Pop the corks! The awards drinks 2019
The best local businesses joined Muddy Cambs for Prosecco, cakes and a pink piano (of course!) at beautiful Eagle Mill B&B. Have a nosey at what we got up to here...
We did it! The Muddy Stilettos Awards are over for another year. But, before we bid them adieu (and I went to bed to recover for 24 hours), we celebrated in true Muddy style with bubbles and cake in the glorious gardens of boutique B&B Eagle Mill.
This year, the awards were bigger and better than ever before with 100% more votes for me to count up (thanks guys!). The competition was fierce, but in the end you lovely readers chose your favourite local businesses to join me at the drinks. Three of the most popular categories were the fitness instructor and pilates/yoga instructor as well as the best beauty salon. Well, that makes complete sense. As you’ll see from the pictures, us Cambridge lot look pretty gorgeous!
It’s fair to say the sun always shines on Muddy Stilettos too – after seven days of solid rain, the weather celebrated with us, and in classic style, I forgot my sun cream!
Thank you to Sam at Eagle Mill for the glorious setting (he does all the gardening himself!) and for acting as chief waiter for the afternoon. If you need somewhere to stay or want the rellies out of your hair when they visit, you can’t do better than the beautifully-decorated rooms here.
Also, a massive thank you to the very talented (and impressively strong) girls at Hall & Co Event Design. Not only did they carry a pink piano across the lawn, but then they turned it into our amazing instagram back drop for the day in mere minutes. Just imagine what they can do at a wedding!
Dolly’s Vintage Tea Party kindly lent us their beautiful crockery for teas and coffees with cake once we’d seen off the bubbles. The pretty plates and cups and saucers finished off the event perfectly. If you’re looking for props for an event or wedding you NEED to visit them – they have an Aladdin’s Cave of wonders.
And finally the scrumptious cake. Well, I just have to thank my rather talented mother for that! Now why didn’t I inherit her skills?
That’s it for another year Muddies! I’ll be out and about in Cambs meeting all the lovely businesses who were nominated over the next 12 months. Hope to see you there. A massive thank you from Team MuddyCambs – Hollie and Laura x
