What’s on this week Mon 21 May-Sun 27 May

Cambridge Beer Festival Mon 21-Sat 26 May, Jesus Green

Check out one of the oldest and largest beer festivals in the country this week on Jesus Green, with everything from cider, perry, cheese and wide range of vegan and gluten free beer options. The festival is run entirely by volunteers and is a great opportunity to try something new. And even if you’re not the pint-downing sort, there’s bound to be lots of free samples to delicately sip…(hiccup!)…

Seven Strange Stories at the Fitz, Fitzwilliam Museum, 12, 19, 26 May

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear some truly unusual stories about some of the Fitzwilliam’s often overlooked images. Cross-dressing heroes and flying philosophers feature. Naturally.

Fitzwilliam Museum, Trumpington Street, Cambridge

Burwash Manor Asparagus Feast, Barton, Sat 26 May

If ever asparagus was going to be child friendly, it’s at the Burwash asparagus feast. This annual festival is a celebration of the green stuff, and if you’ve had your fill, there’s food vans, a bar, cookery demonstrations and samplings.

Burwash Manor, New Road, Barton, Cambridge, CB23 7EY

Watch out Festival, Cambridge Junction, Sat 26 May

This annual festival of local, contemporary theatre returns to the Junction this Saturday, and as well as being able to catch some of the edgiest theatre around, there will be street food, a DJ, cocktails and craft beer. The Festival runs all day from 12pm and tickets are £20 for the whole day (£15 cons.)

Cambridge Junction, Clifton Way, Cambridge, CB1 7GX, tickets@junction.co.uk
