A cosy lid for winter

Hats off to Blue Blancmange, they'll nailed the fur pom pom this season and which colour shall I choose?

Brrrrrr, the temperatures have certainly taken a nose dive these past few weeks and the gloves and hats have been dragged out.   Winter doesn’t have to feel drab, in fact there are some cracking accessories out there that will brighten up any outfit and keep you up there in the style stakes.

Blue Blancmange

Blue Blancmange are an online luxury loungewear brand that you might have seen at country fairs such as Burghley Horse Trials and Spirit of Christmas.  They’ ve had an exciting year and have extended their range to include, amongst many other things, these fun fur pom pom hats.Blue Blancmange

The fur pom poms are detachable and they come in purple (THE colour this season), navy, bright pink and grey.  Better still I like the price at £25 each.

Blue Blancmange

Blue Blancmange have recently opened their first shop in Kimbolton over the in the west of the county.  It’s tucked down a tiny alley, off the main high street, between Truffle and Twine and Olivers Cafe, whizz past and you’ll miss it. Their range includes men and ladies loungewear in a range of cheerful check colours, shirts, t-shirts, yoga gear, dresses and they have some cracking woollen knitwear. They also sell jewellery, socks and they’ve not forgotten the pooch – they stock some unusual leather dog collars.  So if you’re looking for somewhere for some Christmas shopping inspo, away from the crowds then this place could get tick most pressies on your shopping list.

If you’ve time to explore, Kimbolton is a pretty village with the historic Kimbolton Castle (which is now a private school) dominating one end of the High Street.  The castle is where Katherine of Aragon was imprisoned and died after her divorce from Henry VIII.  There are two pubs, a couple of coffee shops, a florist (which also sells some vintage finds), a craft shop, a gift and interiors shop and make sure you visit Dial House Gallery (open Weds – Sat) which sells an eclectic mix of art, crafts, interior finds, jewellery and much more.
