Nurturing Night Treatment Balm

It's all about hydrating the skin when it comes to looking younger.

Anyone else feel in dire need of a beauty burst to get their skin spring ready? I probably don’t spend enough money on my skin care routine and if it’s a toss up between a new pair of shoes and a moisturiser – the shoes normally win. However with skin that needs some perking up I’ve been on the look out for something to plump and boost.  I’m still relatively new to the balm/serum world but this little beaut has earned its place in my nightly beauty routine – the Katherine Daniels Nurturing Night Balm’s job is to hydrate and nourish even the driest of skin types.

For those of you that haven’t heard of this beauty brand they’ve been going for a few years now and their head office is based nearby in Sandy. Katherine Daniels have developed a skincare range to treat skin based on its type, environment but importantly around the British climate – wet, windy, cold with the odd day of sunshine pretty much sums it up in my book.

Even those of us with combination skin need to work on re-hydrating at this time of year, after the heavy winter months have taken their toll. The Nurturing Night Balm is a balm-to-oil treatment and is one of the latest products to be launched.  The way it works is that it gently melts to an oil when applied to replenish moisture levels and repair the skin whilst you sleep. The balm is formulated with rose oil and is rich in Essential Fatty Acids – you know the ones that keep our skin plumper and younger looking and has a rather lovely, gentle scent that I’m sure had some impact on me falling asleep before my head hit the pillow.

After rigorous testing at Muddy Towers I’ve been impressed by how soft and plump my skin feels – I used it on its own at night, instead of a moisturiser.  The texture of the balm is very smooth and light, almost like glycerin – it’s certainly different from other products I’ve used and there’s nothing heavy or cloggy about it.

So how do you use it?

  • As a serum for very dry skin under your moisturiser at night
  • As a night balm on its own or underneath a repairing mask.
  • During the day, over your make-up, the Nurturing Night Balm works as a concealer enhancer to help disguise wrinkles and to prevent your concealer creasing.
  • It works as a fab highlighter too – pop a little on your cheekbones and it’ll give you a subtle, dewy sheen.
  • If you suffer with those pesky hard white lumps (often around your eyes) also known as Milia, the balm works as a night treatment. Massaged around the eye it’ll help soften and bring the Milia to the surface regenerating the skin cells as you sleep.

Where can you buy it?

Close Health and Beauty Bedforshire

Close Health and Beauty are a local health and beauty salon that have been working with Katherine Daniels products since they first came on the market.  The Nurturing Night Balm costs £38.45 which I didn’t feel was too extortionate compared to other beauty brands. They do have some samples available in the salon so it’s well worth swinging by if you’re close and want to try before you buy.  I got three nights out of my tester as the way that it glides on a little goes a long way.  A definite winner if your scrabbling around for a Mothers Day present.
